I said i don't want compensation (or a new spoon!), i was trying to do them a favour by telling them. Sunbeam seemed to think i was going to demand money from them. I asked how that would help, as the spoon was the same one they'd already given me, and didn't work with their recipe book. I tried ringing Sunbeam, thinking they'd want to know, however my news didn't seem to penetrate. A shame, as the recipe book that comes with the breadmaker is in Australian Metric. So instead of a tablespoon i was using 3/4 of one. A NZ metric tablespoon is 15ml - an Australian metric tablespoon is 20ml. It is in NZ (or US) tablespoon measurements. The measuring spoon given by Sunbeam is wrong.

I can't eat shop-bought bread, or would never have made it this far, but finally, I figured it out. I kept thinking maybe it was just the weather, and nearly gave up many times. Sometimes i used my own spoons, sometimes the one that came with the breadmaker. Read more, using their handy measuring spoon, tried adapting the recipes, and tried every tip the baker sites have. I followed recipes in the Sunbeam book religiously. However, for $130 one can't be too fussy, and i couldn't afford better.Īfter 2 years of using the machine, despite baking at least twice a week, (give it points for lasting that long) i still couldn't get bread to turn out all the time - no matter what i did. The nonstick didn't seem to work very well, i always had to scrape the sides down, and the whole was so cheap and tinny that the breadpan was bending itself out of shape in use.
